CONGRESS: TOUGH TIMES
Not much time has gone when INC the grand old political party of India faced its
biggest defeat and humiliation after its worst performance in its entire
electoral history, managing only 44 seats in LokSabha, not even been
able to get the leader of opposition post for which 10% of total seats in
LS are needed. Adding salt to the wounds is the scene of various Congress
Leaders accusing the central leadership of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi but the
question arises how and why all this happened to it?
Well, we don't have to go deep to search for the answers. As we all know Congress
was suffering from bad names after various scams came into lime light under its rule.
Dr. Manmohan Singh being an honest person, was also accused for these scams and
he was also mocked frequently for the indifferent and lethal approach of his decision
making. Also, Congress led UPA government never tried to make a common man self
dependent but all that it made him is a beggar with various subsidies and unwise policies.
This emptied the national treasure, foreign exchange and our GDP was affected accordingly.
Many MNCs refused to invest in the country, referring to ailing economy and loose
government policies. This further led to the downfall of the Congress party who had in
2004 general elections cleared the mist of "India Shining" of NDA.
Congress, however, continued its foolish practices, be it its government policies or frequent
insensitive comments made by its leaders in media. This further made angry the already
ailing mob to the price hike, increasing crimes and unemployment. This made a room for a
strong opposition, whom Narendra Modi and NDA utilised to its maximum and the result
is before all of us. Modi led NDA just whitewashed the 10 year old UPA govenment on the
back of huge public support. Also, party unsuccessfully tried to take some electoral benefits
by playing minority card which failed miserably for the party. Congress now is devastated fully.
No party wants to join congress led UPA debarring few of its older allies. Even now party
seems to have not learn t from its humiliating defeat and the same "one Family Leadership"
and rest "the Servants" attitude is still prevalent. Party leaders do not follow common code
of conduct and discipline even now and make irresponsible comments frequently. From big
leaders to a common booth worker all are in a hurry to leave the party and central leadership
remain helpless.
But well, the only thing that can be said about Congress is that it has seen a history of up-downs
in past too and again it can bounce off its existing condition if its central leadership responds
to the high time as early as possible.
