WHY "GOD"?

NOTE : It is just a reflective story, and fictitious. Not to oppose or hurt any religious faiths.

Silence is the toughest weapon ever to fight with. Silence is the mightiest answer ever to argue with.
And, Silence is the strongest solution ever to tackle with any problem of our short and silly life. Silence, generates thoughts, which upheavels revolts and revolutions, changing our own lives. It was this silence, once generated in my mind, that transformed my life.

It was about those five years ago when,at the crossroads,by the footpath, sat a man, with his pockets  empty, hands empty, and of course, life empty. As known,in today's world," If wealth is lost, everything is lost",he,who was a middle- class man, felt that he has no other option than commiting suicide. Fortunately, the man was none but I,myself. I said it's fortune because today,I can stand before the world and proclaim myself to be a happy and successful person. Happiness,in real terms, means utter satisfaction and peace of mind which is indicated by a unending pleasant smile on our face which can terminate any tension,
flap out any frustration and drive away any depression.

I, a common man,was literally,a common man then, afraid of challenging this world and was knocked
out in the race of life. In-built with superstitions and blind faiths,I always believed that the God,the Almighty, would help me. My hands, tied with bunches of holy threads,my neck loaded with 'malas' and the so-called 'tikas' on my forehead, all these doubtlessly indicated how dependent I was on the Mr.Invincible. All these idiosyncrasies never optimized me. Rather,I used to feel, " Perhaps,God is not pleased with my devotion" and I used to increase the 'dosage' to make him shower his boons on me. Day-to-day horoscope checks, regular visits to astrologer, temples, etc. were my daily routine. As a matter of fact,I was a brahmin. But,none of these helped me achieve a good job. But,for the first time, something went practical through my mind. Thoughts that perturbed me,when I was sitting on the footpath, unsuccessful and uncaressed, were the ones which hypnotized my hierarchy. It was, " Why God?" I wasn't  asking God to blend my situation,I was rather questioning myself, " Why to depend on God?" Questions arose in a sequence as a consequence of which I'm alive today. What about my caste and religion? What about the thousands of Gods I prayed? Why couldn't all they help an individual like me? Why not omni-potency? Are they really Gods or trendy fashions which we are following blindly? Wise people say, " God helps those who helps themselves". But is it their wisdom or foolishness to say so? If one can help himself  why would he ask someone else for help. It's then that I realised, that God,is not a superpower,he is not invincible,he is invisible. The philosophy of God is a faith. It is just the act of our ancestors who by practising this Dharma wanted to keep us disciplined and in the right path.

The moment I removed the sacred threads tied to my hands, the 'malas' and erased the 'tikas',and developed a methodology of self-confidence and self-dependence,I progressed. With hardwork,I attained a good job within short time which wasn't possible till then. It is because I believed in my strengths,my own strengths. There are lots of issues which really make me feel that there is no God. I believe in luck which is of course,a matter of good probability. But,it's not God's favour. I always feel that all these concepts of religion,Janma and Punarjanma,God,etc. are merely foolish misconceptions.

Different religions and their followers give me the feel of different popular actors and actresses, and their fan-followers, but on a mass basis. Sometimes, I even feel that, Hinduism, the ancient religion, is created on the basis of novels,  written by great playwrights, the heroes of which we treat as Gods. Isn't it true? Today,if we watch a movie, in which a person has a good character, and claims to be a good son of his parents, a good brother,a good leader, and a good human who fights against the wrongs in the society and finally punishes or gets the so-called villain punished,we announce him to be hero. But if the same story is found on the pages of a great epic, The Ramayana,we call the person to be Lord Rama and a God. Do we worship the image of the hero of the movie in our homes? No. It is because we know that the story didn't actually take place and it is just the idea of the writer. So,do we know surely about the story of Rama which took place about 5000 to 6000 years ago? Neither you nor me were born at that time. We are just following the customs and traditions that were preceding us and are allowing it to succeed. The same is the case with the origin of other religions. A person, like Bhagat Singh, who gave away his life for the sake of the country, was simply considered a  freedom fighter, but wasn't ever prayed taking him to be God. Then why Jesus Christ? He too died for his people. Then why is he made a God? People say,he appeared after death, and other stories, which again neither you nor me saw. The truth is that yes,he is crucified, but Jesus Christ had a disease called Hematohidrosis,a symptom of severe stress, which according to medical expert, Dr. Frederick Zugibe, was
due to loss of blood and fluid and cardiogenic shock causing heart failure. So,what is the difference between a God and a man if he too dies of heart failure and we too? And if he is really a God, he shall have to take care of all the people of the world. If it is so,then why are there taking place Christian preachings encouraging people to convert to Christianity so that God will look after them. It is just like the dirty politics where the party leaders beg people for votes to form the government or the local MLA's to form the constituency.

All this is a matter of argument which simply proves that God does not exist. The guys like Valmiki ,
Kalidasa, etc. who wrote Ramayana,Mahabharata,Bhagavad Gita or epics of other religions perhaps had a good view of the future world and expected that people and their character may be ruined,so let's give them a sample characterization whom they will follow and stay good. Thus, these great playwrights created ideal personalities in their plays, whom we today pray as Gods, keeping them stagnant in the form of statues locked in temples and do our own work, as we wish.

Sometimes, when I feel all these reflective kinds of stuff going in my mind,I laugh to myself saying, " How great it would be if all people think like me and stop wasting their time and money on these statues and temples!" It is a true fact that in India, the annual income of all famous temples is around 100 lakh crores of rupees. The figure,is definitely very high to imagine. But,it is true,as per recent surveys and statistics. If similarly how much would all the money from all other temples, mosques, churches, etc. amount to. And if distributed across all the people of the world, poor and middle class, I feel the poverty wholly can be eliminated and deaths, due  to hunger, thirst, lack of proper sanitation and medical facilities, etc. can be prevented. And again,if we still believe in God,wise people have
said,
" Service to mankind is service to God".... Then, why not follow it...!
